Chocolate Crinkle Cookies

"Super good"

4 oz. unsweetened chocolate
1/2 C. shortening
OR
3/4 C. cocoa powder
3/4 C. butter

2 C. sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
4 eggs
2 C. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 C. chocolate chips
powdered sugar (to roll cookies in)
  • Melt chocolate in pan with butter (or shortening), stir in sugar. 
  • Add vanilla, beat in eggs, flour, baking powder and salt.
  • Add chocolate chips last.
  • Refrigerate dough 2 hours or overnight. 
  • Roll into 1" balls (I use a cookie scoop) and roll in powdered sugar. 
  • Bake 10-12 min. at 375
